Kjell Moum, Photographer

Speciality - Restore old photos

I know Kjell as an honest and reliable person, with a great deal of integrity. His professional skills as a photographer are substantial. However, it is Kjell’s extremely high competence within the field of the restoration of old photos that makes Kjell my obvious choice when I want to save a part of my family’s history, caught on old yellowed photos.

Do you have piles of photos the size of stamps hidden away somewhere? If so, do what I did some time ago. I had found a picture of my father when he was young. Handsome, yes, but not much larger than my thumb nail. Also, the photo had a crease. I asked Kjell to enlarge the photo and remove the crease. To clearly see the man I knew so well and yet not, since he was so young in the photo, was a fantastic feeling; a feeling worth every penny. Now I have found another tiny photo, with a motif I never hoped to find. My mother, pregnant with me and my twin brother, sixty years ago…

An old photo, restored by Kjell and framed by me.

”My God, that’s beautiful!” the customer exclaimed.

Hey!

Just wanted to say what amazing work you did with the picture depicting me at the age of 2 (the girl with the phone).

Best regards

Marlene Winsa

Customer requirements

Implementation

Digitization in repro stand with high resolution camera (50 Mpixels). Special glass keeps large and small photograph flat during shooting. Create a clipping path of the the background to make it uniform. Adjusting the contrast and light. Reduction of noise (graininess). Final sharpening.
